My invoice expired before I could pay

Written by Support

Designer invoices expire 14 days after they are issued. If you miss the window, the order is cancelled automatically — the piece is not gone, just postponed. This guide explains your options after an expiry.

What Expiry Means

An unpaid invoice at day 14 is cancelled, along with the order attached to it. No money is charged, and no penalty applies to you as the customer. The designer is simply no longer committed to the order.

Restarting the Order

If you still want the piece, message the designer through the app. They can issue a fresh invoice and you can pay it normally. Because your conversation and measurements are already on file, restarting is usually quick.

Avoiding Expiry Next Time

Invoices carry reminders on day 3, day 7, and day 14, and an order reminder if a related order is awaiting payment. Keep your notification settings enabled so these reach you, and pay invoices soon after they arrive — the sooner you pay, the sooner production starts.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Was I charged anything when the invoice expired? No. Expired invoices are never charged.

  • Can the designer extend an invoice deadline? Only by issuing a new invoice. The 14-day window is fixed for the original invoice. If you know you will need more time, tell the designer before day 14 — they can reissue the invoice with fresh timing if they agree.

  • Does an expired invoice affect my account? No. Customers are not penalised for unpaid invoices.
